Visto che il forum continua a mangiarsi i post che scrivo nella maxi guida a Dota2 che stavo compilando (e che il tempo e la pazienza non aumentano), posterò una guida più sintetica per tutti coloro che vogliono provare questo fantastico gioco. Per velocizzare il tutto, la guida sarà una traduzione (quasi) fedele di una famosa guida per principianti scritta da Zotmaster e presente su www.playdota.com, con l'aggiunta di parti scritte da me (sopratutto per chi proprio non ha un'idea delle basi).

Lo stile di scrittura di Purge [NdT: membro di playdota.com, giocatore amatoriale di ottimo livello e autore di diverse guide, tra cui una intitolata, appunto, "Welcome to Dota, you suck"] è meno volgare del mio. Io probabilmente avrei rinforzato questa frase con almeno un'altra parolina.Ciononostante, questa frase spiega chiaramente ciò che ogni giocatore di Dota conosce...anche se non tutti lo ammettono.
Fai cagare. Sei il peggior *inserire nome dell'Eroe* con cui abbia mai giocato. QUAL'E' IL TUO FOTTUTO PROBLEMA?!?
Dota ha una linea di apprendimento piuttosto ripida. Quando inizi, fai semplicemente schifo. Per quanto qualcuno si sforzi a negarlo, chiunque fa schifo quando inizia. Ecco alcuni consigli per prepararsi prima del tuffo:

Leggi, idiota! Ci sono un sacco di guide interessanti su Playdota. Lo so: leggere può essere spaventoso, pericoloso e impegnativo...ma sostanzialmente ci sono guide su quasi qualunque aspetto di Dota, per chi vuole imparare. Leggere ti aiuterà anche ad apprendere il gergo specifico utilizzato dagli altri giocatori.
Guarda i video! Uno dei modi migliori per imparare a giocare bene, è guardare qualcuno che gioca molto molto bene. In fondo alla guida, nelle FAQ, trovate tutta una serie di link a video live o registrati, con tanto di commento tecnico in diretta.
Utilizza i bot per apprendere le meccaniche di base. Alcuni mettono in dubbio l'efficacia dei bot. E' vero, i bot non pensano come esseri umani. Detto questo, giocare con i bot ti permetterà di giocare al tuo ritmo. Se stai iniziando da zero, questo è un'ottimo modo per apprendere le abilità degli Eroi e come utilizzarle. E' anche importante per capire dove trovare ciò che si cerca nell'interfaccia e nei menù. Meno tempo è speso per cercare un oggetto, meglio è. I bot giocano bene nella fase di laning [NdT: la prima fase del gioco, quella in cui si gioca "divisi" in una delle 3 lane, da soli o con 1+ compagni di squadra contro un numero in genere pari di nemici].

Se hai mai giocato sull'Xbox Live, sai gia cosa aspettarti. Altrimenti, preparati a quello che può essere descritto solamente come un olocausto visivo e auditivo. Se stai leggendo questa guida dall'inizio, Purge ed io ti abbiamo gia insultato. Quando inizierai a giocare con delle altre persone, quindi, preparati a scoprire non solo che tua madre è stata passata in rassegna, ma che tu sei, probabilmente, un ebreo omosessuale nero. Con una vagina.
TERMINOLOGIA

Conoscere lo "slang" ti permette di comunicare velocemente.
Antico: edificio centrale della base Radiant e dalla base Dire; se viene distrutto quello dell’altra squadra, si vince!
Carry (hero): sono gli eroi in grado di chiudere la partita (in genere damage dealer fisici, che necessitano di molto farm e dell'aiuto dei Support per poter brillare). E' una distinzione ormai datata (una distinzione migliore dei ruoli degli eroi è disponibile più avanti nella guida).
Creep(s): creature controllate dall’intelligenza artificiale, alleate delle due squadre; spawnano ad intervalli regolari dalla base Radiant e dalla base Dire; si muovono lungo le 3 lane ed attaccano ogni nemico che incontrano.
Dire: la squadra che parte in alto a destra nella mappa.
Eroi: il personaggio controllato da ciascun giocatore
Farm(ing): l'attività di guadagnare gold ed esperienza
Fontana: il punto in cui si spawna quando su muore, presente sia nella Base Radiant che in quella Dire. Cura vita e mana degli eroi alleati e attacca qualunque nemico entri nel suo range di azione causando danni devastanti.
Gank(are): aggredire eroi nemici che si trovano in altre Lane o nella Jungla con lo scopo di ucciderli.
Jungle (Jungla): la parte di mappa non percorsa dalle lane, in cui spawnano i Neutral.
Lane(s): le 3 principali corsie che portano dalla base Radiant alla base Dire. Su ciascuna lane sono presenti le Torri e sono percorse dai Creep. Dall’alto in basso sono Top-lane (TOP), Mid-lane (MID), Bottom-lane (BOT).
Lashit: l'attacco che uccide un'unità. Se è un'unità alleata, prende il nome di "deny".
Neutral (creeps): mostri neutrali che spawnano in campi appositi nella Jungla e se ne stanno fermi li fino a che non sono molestati.
Oggetti: potenziamenti acquistabili con l’oro da ciascun personaggio. Possono essere rivenduti per metà del loro valore; possono essere combinati tra loro in vari modi. Ciascun personaggio può trasportare contemporaneamente 6 oggetti (o di più se sono stackabili).
"Pushare": avanzare in una Lane, distruggendo le Torri e facendosi strada verso l'Antico della squadra avversaria.
Radiant: la squadra che parte in basso a sinistra nella mappa.
Rune: power up di effetto differente che spawnano periodicamente nel fiume che taglia in due la mappa.
Shop: presente nella Fontana di ciascuna Base, permette di acquistare gli Oggetti. Esistono poi il Secret Shop (si trova in due location della Jungle) e il Side Shop (si trovano nelle Lane Top e Bottom)
Support (hero): gli eroi che permettono ai Carry di arrivare a chiudere una partita, proteggendoli e aiutandoli. E' una distinzione ormai datata (una distinzione migliore dei ruoli degli eroi è disponibile più avanti nella guida).
Torri: edifici che sorgono sulle lane e che attaccano i bersagli nemici causando ingenti danni. Tutte le torri di almeno 1 lane devono essere
distrutte per poter arrivare all’Antico dell’altra squadra.
LA MINIMAPPA

La Minimappa mostra molte cose. La Mappa su cui si gioca DOTA2 è semi speculare: è divisa grossomodo a metà, in diagonale dall’angolo in alto a sx a quello in basso a dx. La metà inferiore è controllata dalla squadra Radiant; la metà superiore è controllata dalla squadra Dire.
le Torri sia Radiant (quadratini verdi) che Dire (quadratini Rossi)
la posizione delle due basi (insieme di simboli verdi e rossi).
il fiume che attraversa diagonalmente la parte centrale della mappa (colorato di blu).
la posizione dei Secret Shop e dei Side Shop (cerchietti bianchi)
la posizione di spawn dei Neutral (cerchietti verdi per quelli normali, gialli per i campi di "Neutral Ancient" più potenti, cerchio grande rosso per Roshan)
la posizione di spawn delle Rune (i due puntini gialli nel fiume)
GLI EROI

Tutti gli Eroi hanno meccaniche in comune. Partiamo da un presupposto: ciascun eroe di DOTA è un mondo a parte. Essi sono riconducibili a diverse categorie, in base ai ruoli che rivestono nel team di solito; molti eroi, però possono rivestire più ruoli, o avere un ruolo ibrido. Alcune cose però li accomunano tutti: tutti gli eroi hanno attributi e abilità, pf e mana.
Gli attributi determinano le capacità di base di un Eroe. Sono 3: Strenght, Agility e Intelligence. Ciascun eroe appartiene ad una delle 3 categorie, anche se il ruolo di ciascuno di essi non è necessariamente definito solo da esso: esistono eroi Strenght “caster”, o eroi Intelligence che tankano, ad esempio. Gli effetti degli attributi sono:
http://www.dota2wiki.com/images/1/1f/Icon_Int.pngIntelligence: ciascun punto di INT aumenta il mana di 13, la rigenerazione mana di 0,04mana/sec e aumenta di 1 il danno degli eroi di Intelligence.
L'esperienza permette di aumentare di livello e apprendere/potenziare le abilità.’ Uccidendo creep nemici o neutrali ed eroi nemici (o semplicemente essendo nei pressi quando muoiono), gli Eroi guadagnano esperienza e, di conseguenza, livelli. Aumentadno di livello, gli attributi dell’Eroe salgono automaticamente.
Inoltre, ad ogni livello gudagnato (nonché al pirmo) si riceve un Punto Abilità. Questi punti sono 25 in totale (al livello massimo, 25) e possono essere utilizzati per acquistare Potenziamenti Attributi o per acquistare o potenziare le 4 Abilità di ciascun Eroe.
Le abilità si differenziano in “normali” e in “ultimate”: entrambi i tipi possono essere acquistati più volte, ottenendo un effetto più potente (fino a 4 acquisti per le abilità normali e fino a 3 per le ultimate); inoltre, le abilità “ultimate” (che sono mediamente più potenti) necessitano di un livello minimo per essere acquistate (6) e potenziate (11 e 16).
C'è molto di più che Forza, Intelligenza e Agilità. Non sto a spiegare a cosa servono PF e Mana. E’ importante però sapere che la rigenerazione base di PF e Mana di ciascun Eroe è basata sul suo punteggio di STR(pf) e INT(mana). Questo significa, ad esempio, che un oggetto che fornisce “Rigenerazione mana x% più rapida” è molto più efficace su un eroe con un alto punteggio di INT (ES: Pugna).
Il valore di Gold determina, ovviamente, quanto oro possiede un personaggio; ciascun eroe possiede 603 gold ad inizio partita. Esso cresce lentamente nel tempo (8 gold ogni 7 secondi). Può essere aumentato:
uccidendo i creep nemici (38-53 gold per kill, valore variabile; i creep ranged valgono leggermente di più)
uccidendo i creep neutrali (ciascun campo di neutrals vale da 65 a 346 gold, a seconda del tipo di creep)
distruggendo edifici nemici, comprese le torri (ciascuna torre vale da 454 a 602, anche in base al rango della torre stessa)
uccidendo gli eroi nemici (valore variabile in base al livello e alla streak di kill, da circa 250 a circa 650)
L’armatura riduce (o aumenta, in caso di valori negativi) il danno fisico che il personaggio subisce. La maggior parte degli attacchi (non abilità!di creep ed eroi causa danni fisici.
Ciascun eroe possiede poi un valore di resistenza ai danni magici pari al 25%, incrementabile con oggetti (o con alcune abilità). La maggior parte delle abilità dei personaggi causa danni magici.
Il Movement Speed (ms) determina quanto un eroe si muove velocemente; più è alto, maggiore è la velocità dell'Eroe. Eroi differenti hanno velocità di base differenti. La velocità è misurata in "unità" ed è cappata a 522. La maggior parte degli Eroi inizia con un valore di ms attorno a 300.
Tutti gli eroi hanno anche un Attack point e un Casting point differente: questo, per brevità, significa che alcuni Eroi hanno animazioni di attacco e di cast migliori di altri. Per gli eroi ranged, vi sono differenti distanze cui questi possono attaccare e differenti velocità del "proiettile" dell'attacco.
GLI OGGETTI

Esistono diversi negozi che vendono diversi oggetti. Gli Oggetti sono acquistati presso i 3 diversi tipi di Shop presenti sulla mappa: Normale, Secret e Side Shop (per la posizione di ciascuno Shop, vedi il paragrafo “la Minimappa”). Conoscere cosa ciascun negozio vende è complesso in un primo momento, ma diventa più facile col passare del tempo. Inoltre, gli oggetti venduti solamente nei Secret Shop hanno un'icona rossa nell'angolo della figura.
Esistono diverse categorie di Oggetti Gli oggetti si dividono in 3 categorie: Consumable, Oggetti e Ricette. I Consumable sono oggetti che, una volta utilizzati, spariscono dall’inventario; gli oggetti di questa categoria stackano se acquistati più volte.
Cosa siano gli oggetti è facilmente intuibile. Quello che è meno intuibile è sapere che alcuni oggetti possono essere combinati tra di loro per ottenere Oggetti più potenti. A volte, per fare questo è necessario l’acquisto di una Ricetta (Oggetto particolare, privo di qualsiasi funzione se non quello di upgradare oggetti gia acquistati).
NOTA: è consigliato acquistare la Ricetta per un Oggetto sempre come ultimo componente, dato che pur essendo prive di effetti, le Ricette occupano spazio nell’inventario!
La preparazione di sopra è solamente l'antipasto. Ora ci immergeremo fino allo scroto in un po' di Dota. Visto che "giocare a Dota" è l'aspetto più importante di "giocare a Dota", questa sezione sarà per ovvi motivi suddivisa in sotto sezioni. Alcune saranno destinate sopratutto ai principianti, altre no. Leggiamo!
CONSIGLI PRE-PARTITA

Il tuo umore è più importante di quanto probabilmente non credi. Hai mai notato come, indipendentemente dall'attività che stai svolgendo, le tue performance sono peggiori quando sei scazzato o sotto stress? I giochi non fanno eccezione. Se giocare ti rilassa, probabilmente migliorerai nel corso della partita. Se al contrario sei di quelli che si innervosiscono facilmente, uno o due errori possono innescare un meccanismo che ti farà giocare ancora peggio. Se la musica ti rilassa, ascoltala; se hai bisogno di un ambiente silenzioso, fai che lo sia. Sarai probabilmente sorpreso di vedere quanto miglioreranno le tue prestazioni per il semplice fatto di giocare con il giusto atteggiamento mentale.
Cerca di scegliere il tuo Eroe con criterio. Se la tua squadra ha gia tre eroi di Agilità, non prenderne un quarto. Se la tua squadra ha scelto solo eroi melee perchè, tutti insieme, hanno dei problemi di apprendimento, scegli un eroe ranged. Anche quando i tuoi alleati hanno pickato solamente dei ganker o dei pusher, questo non significa che tu non possa essere flessibile [NdT: "to pick" significa "scegliere un Eroe"; un Eroe "ganker" è ottimo nel cogliere gli eroi nemici di sorpresa e ucciderli; un eroe "pusher" è ottimo per distruggere le torri nemiche]. Se la tua squadra ha una carenza - ad esempio non ha alcun initiator [NdT: un Eroe "initiator" è ottimo per fare la prima mossa in uno scontro 5v5 per via delle sue abilità e caratteristiche. In Daoc, una mossa da "initiator" può essere considerata un insta mezz aoe, per esempio] - scegli un Eroe che possa farlo. Sorprendentemente, chiedere ai propri compagni di squadra quale Eroe pickare è una delle poche domande che un principiante può fare senza timore di far arrabbiare nessuno.
Nella peggiore delle ipotesi, scegli un Eroe con degli Stun. Forse i tuoi compagni di squadra non ti saranno di aiuto. Forse non ti senti pronto per giocare l'Eroe che ti dicono di scegliere. A volte, anche i giocatori esperti possono non essere sicuri di quale sia l'Eroe giusto da scegliere. Indipendentemente dal livello di skill, gli Stun sono quanto più di vicino c'è all'UNIVERSALMENTE BUONO in Dota. Sopratutto per un giocatore principiante, questo è un buon modo per essere sicuri che il tuo Eroe sarà sempre utile. Se scegli di alzare i tuoi disable come prime abilità, uno http://www.dota2wiki.com/images/thum...dow_Shaman.png Shadow Shaman di 9° livello ha le stesse capacità di disable rispetto ad uno di 25° livello [NdT: per disable si intendono tutte quelle abilità che incapacitano i nemici in qualche modo]. Ok, il tuo danno farà schifo; ok, avrai pochissimi Punti Ferita. Detto questo, è normale che un giocatore principiante muoia molto e rimanga indietro con i livelli e con gli oggetti. Per un carry, questo è disastroso [NdT: un eroe "carry" necessita di molto "farm", ovvero di molto oro, per poter essere utile. Se riesce a "farmare", però, diventa quasi inarrestabile]. Per qualcuno con uno stun, al contrario, è semplicemente una scocciatura. Anche eroi incredibilmente "farmati" muoiono, se non possono fare nulla per lunghi periodi di tempo.
EARLY GAME

Ok, la tua squadra ha scelto gli Eroi e vi siete spartiti le Lane. E' ora di acquistare qualche oggetto e mettersi in cammino.
Stat e Regen. Stat e Regen. Stat e Regen. [NdT: "Stat" significa statistiche, ovvero, punti di Forza, Agilità e Intelligenza. "Regen" significa "rigenerazione", la principale fonte di cura in Dota - nessun oggetto cura istantaneamente, ma solo come x Punti Ferita/secondo] Non posso sottolinearlo abbastanza: ai primi livelli, i Punti Ferita e il Mana sono pochi. Hai bisogno di sopravvivere, e per farlo le Stat e il Regen sono quello che ti serve. L'idea base è che con il 99% degli Eroi, gli oggetti iniziali migliori sono:
I Tango e la Healing Salve provvedono a mantenere alti i Punti Ferita; le Clarity fanno la stessa cosa con il Mana. Gli altri oggetti della lista forniscono bonus a 1 o a tutte e 3 le statistiche; in particolare, gli Iron Branch sono l'oggetto efficiente dal punto di vista prezzo/risultato (53 gold per +1 a tutte e 3 le Stat) e, se non ci fosse un limite di 6 oggetti nell'inventario, sarebbero l'oggetto più potente del gioco.
Siccome il succo di Dota è "essere flessibile", ci sono un altro paio di oggetti che meritano considerazione:
Alcune persone ritengono che la Quelling Blade sia un oggetto da niubbi. Alcune persone sono idiote. Quest'oggetto è molto di più che un aiuto per coloro che non sanno lasthittare [NdT: un "lasthit" è il colpo che uccide un eroe o un "creep" nemico o neutrale (ovvero, uno dei "mostrini" che si fanno guerra nelle lane); un "deny" è il colpo che uccide un'unità alleata - in questo caso, l'eserienza guadagnata dai nemici viene ridotta]. Gli Eroi nemici faranno del loro meglio per assicurarsi che non riusciate a lasthittare i creep, attaccando voi o loro. Gli Eroi ranged sono particolarmente competenti in entrambi i ruoli, ma hanno un difetto: hanno un danno che è generalmente più basso di quelli melee. Una Quelling Blade può aumentare di 20 punti il danno di un Eroe melee; questo significa che se un Eroe ranged può lasthittare un creep sono quando questo ha 30 o 40 Punti Ferita, un Eroe Melee con quest'oggetto può farlo quando i Punti Ferita del creep sono 50 o 60. Inoltre, l'abilità attiva della Quelling Blade permette di distruggere un albero, aprendo delle possibilità tattiche interessanti.
Come per la Quelling Blade, lo Stout Shield funziona meglio sugli eri melee. Ricordi quando dicevo che i Punti Vita sono pochi all'inizio di una partita? Subire 20 Danni in meno da un colpo potrebbe benissimo significare che stai subendo metà dei danni di un colpo. Questo, per contro, significa che puoi subire il doppio degli attacchi del normale. Anche se non va preso come un'autorizzazione a fare stupidaggini, quest'oggetto aiuta a rimanere in Lane.
L'Animal Courier e le Observer Wards sono oggetti utilissimi che devono essere comprati da almeno 1 Eroe per squadra a inizio partita. In genere tali oggetti vengono comprati dagli Eroi support, normalmente 1 a testa. [NdT: un Eroe "support" sacrifica l'esperienza e il farm in favore del proprio carry; sono eroi la cui utilità è determinata principalmente dalle proprie abilità più che dagli oggetti che possiedono].
Sei debole. Ricordatene. I principianti tendono a subire una gran quantità di attacchi in Lane. Lo so, lo so: sei un ragazzone grande e grosso e tu e il tuo eroe non accettate affronti da nessuno. Sfortunatamente per te, i creep, gli Eroi e le Torri causano danni più che sufficienti a farti secco in brevissimo tempo, all'inizio di una partita. Se un creep nemico ti sta attaccano, muoviti, cazzo. Tutto il tempo che non spendi in Lane, che sia perchè sei stupido o morto, è tempo che non stai spendendo a guadagnare esperienza e oro. E' la strada più breve per fare incazzare i tuoi compagni di squadra e diventare inutile man mano che la partita progredisce.
Cerca di capire perchè è importante dare solo l'ultimo colpo ai creep. Chiunque può vedere che chi da l'ultimo colpo (lasthit) a un creep guadagna dell'oro. E' chiaro per tutti che l'oro è una cosa buona. Quello che molti giocatori non comprendono, tuttavia, è che l'altra metà dell'equazione è altrettanto importante.
Cosa accade quando i creep non hanno nulla da attaccare? Si muovono lungo la Lane finchè non trovano qualcos'altro da attaccare. Più velocemente muoiono i creep nemici, più velocemente accade questo. Più i tuoi creep si muovono, più si allontanano dalla tua Torre. Ricordati, all'inizio della partita sei debole: combattere vicino a una Torre nemica e venire attaccato dalla stessa è una cosa estremamente spiacevole.
Se state cercando di abbattere una Torre, allora cerca di far arrivare quanto prima i tuoi creep a quella Torre; ma all'inizio del gioco, è assai improbabile che questa evenienza si verifichi.
Per di più, a rischio di sottolineare l'ovvio, più lontano sei dalla tua Torre, più diventi vulnerabile alle gank degli Eroi nemici. I giocatori principianti in genere si allontanano troppo dalle proprie linee ("overextend") e diventano facile prede dei ganker. Probabilmente, questo fatto sarà la causa della maggior parte delle tue morti fintanto che stai imparando a giocare.
La Minimappa è tua amica. Ancora una volta: sei debole, a inizio partita. Non solo due Eroi sono più pericolosi di uno, ma nelle fasi iniziali due Eroi sono quasi sempre quanto basta per ucciderne uno. Benchè sia tuo compito comunicare ai tuoi compagni di squadra quando un Eroe nemico lascia la tua Lane (NdT: in genere si dice qualcosa come "miss" o "ss" o "mia"), non contare sul fatto che gli altri ti facciano la stessa cortesia. Se dai uno sguardo alla Minimappa e vedi che ci sono meno di 5 Eroi nemici visibili sulla stessa, è possibile che essi abbiano in mente qualcosa. Questo è il momento di essere cauti. Gli Eroi nemici possono facilmente prenderti di sorpresa nella posizione in cui ti trovi? Ci sono alleati nei pressi? Questi alleati hanno degli stun? Hai un'abilità che ti permetta di fuggire velocemente? Una qualsiasi risposta negativa e faresti meglio a ritirarti. La cautela è la parte più importante del coraggio e, ancora una volta, più tempo non passi in Lane perchè sei morto, più esperienza e oro perdi. Questo fatto non cessa mai di essere vero, quindi allenati a tenere d'occhio la Minimappa per tutta la durata della partita.
MID GAME

Prima ancora che ve ne accorgiate, gli Eroi cominceranno ad abbandonare le Lane e inizieranno a gankare e pushare. E' ora di iniziare a pensare agli oggetti che serviranno al vostro Eroe per essere efficace.
Ora hai bisogno di Stivali.http://www.dota2wiki.com/images/thum...s_of_Speed.png Boots of Speed. Per i principianti, 55ms [NdT: movespeed, ovvero la velocità cui si muove il vostro Eroe] possono sembrare insignificanti. Dopotutto, all'inizio del gioco il tuo Eroe ha tra 285 e 330ms. Non cadere in questo tranello: a rischio di sottolineare nuovamente l'ovvio, se un Eroe è più veloce di te prima o poi ti raggiungerà. Se ci aggiungi il fatto che gli Eroi hanno abilità che rallentano e stun per bloccarti, capirai che la differenza di velocità conta ancora di più. "La velocità uccide", davvero. Se non sei in grado di sconfiggere un Eroe, devi essere in grado di seminarlo; se non puoi, sei cibo. Comprati sti stivali.

Non da statistiche. Non da Punti Ferita. Occupa 1/6 del tuo inventario. Tuttavia, questo potrebbe essere l'oggetto più importante del gioco. I nemici stanno attaccando una delle tue Torri? In pochi secondi, sei li. Ti sei allontanato troppo dalla zona sicura e la squadra nemica è pronta a farti la pelle? In pochi secondi, te ne sei andato. Devi raggiungere un'altra Lane velocemente? In pochi secondi, sei li. Sei stato danneggiato gravemente e devi tornare alla base per curarti? In pochi secondi, ci sei. NON LASCIARE MAI LA BASE SENZA UNA DI QUESTE (salvo che quando inizia il gioco).
La maggior parte degli Oggetti con effetti percentuali fa schifo in questa fase del gioco. Acquistare troppo presto un http://www.dota2wiki.com/images/thum...s_Offering.png Vladimir's Offering è un metodo sicuro per farvi flammare dai vostri compagni di squadra, se sono incazzosi. E' facile vedere perchè è così popolare: è composto da parti poco costose e da tutta una serie di Auree per tutto il team. Allora, perchè fa così cagare come scelta? Pensa a cos'è una percentuale: una parte di qualcosa. Il tuo danno è probabilmente ancora basso. Una percentuale di "basso" è, beh, un numero ancora più piccolo di "basso". Sicuro, alla lunga le percentuali diventeranno vantaggiose, ma all'inizio, gli aumenti "lisci" alle Stat - sopratutto al danno - sono di gran lunga preferibili.
Non attraversare il fiume quando sei solo. Questo fiume è alimentato dalle tue lacrime.
Per i nuovi giocatori, questo è uno dei migliori consigli per sopravvivere. A meno che tu non sappia quello che stai facendo, attraversare il fiume per i fatti tuoi significa cercare rogne. Sei scoperto sostanzialmente su tutti i lati e, mentre sei da solo, non c'è molto che puoi fare per proteggerti se vieni attaccato. Non farlo!
Tieni d'occhio l'inventario degli altri Eroi. E' importante sapere quali oggetti vuoi costruire. Allo stesso modo, è importante sapere quello che hanno intenzione di fare tutti gli altri. Se uno dei tuoi alleati sta gia costruendo un http://www.dota2wiki.com/images/thum...px-Mekansm.png Mekansm o una http://www.dota2wiki.com/images/thum...lt_Cuirass.png Assault Cuirass,
significa che dovrete farvi qualcos'altro. [NdT: come regola generale, le Auree stackano sempre a meno che non siano identiche o che non sia specificato diversamente nella descrizione dell'Oggetto.]
Sapere cosa stanno facendo gli Eroi nemici è ancora più importante. Se il loro team ha un initiator, quell'Eroe ha gia un http://www.dota2wiki.com/images/thum...ink_Dagger.png Blink Dagger? Qualcuno ha delle Observer Wards? La scelta degli oggetti è grossomodo un indicatore di ciò che il team nemico sta cercando di fare.
Non lasciare mai e poi mai una Runa, anche se non ti serve L'unica Runa indesiderata è quella che viene raccolta dalla squadra nemica. Se qualcuno ha bisogno di quella Runa, segnalaglielo e difendila (non a costo della vita!). Se non serve a nessuno, prendila tu. Nessuna Runa è totalmente inutile: nella peggiore delle ipotesi, stai impedendo alla squadra nemica di utilizzarla!
Non attivare il Glifo di Protezione se la tua squadra non può approfittarne. Uno degli errori più comuni compiuto dai giocatori di qualsiasi livello, è attivare il Glifo quando i nemici stanno per abbattere una torre. Se nessuno nella tua squadra è in posizione per denyiare la Torre o scacciare gli Eroi nemici che la stanno pushando, che cosa hai ottenuto? Oh no, altri cinque secondi prima che la Torre vada giu!
Il momento giusto per attivare il Glifo è quando il tuo team può difendere o offendere. E' veramente pessimo quando la tua squadra perde uno scontro e si finisce col perdere una o due baracche perchè il Glifo è in cooldown.
Le Torri sono DAVVERO importanti. Quello che a volte i giocatori non realizzano, è quanto sia importante distruggere le Torri nemiche e difendere le proprie. A prima vista, non sembra molto vantaggioso: uccidere gli Eroi nemici appare più importante, e se pushi una lane fai più fatica a farmare. In realtà, questo è un punto di vista miope.
Il punto focale non è tanto la Lane pushata, quanto l'Oro guadagnato da tutto il team. Ti sei mai chiesto perchè il support nell'altra squadra ha mille oggetti mentre tu sei ancora povero in canna? Probabilmente è per via di tutto l'Oro che quel support ha guadagnato grazie alle Torri abbattute dalla sua squadra. Quei 200 e qualcosa gold guadagnati quando si abbatte una Torre non sembrano tanti, almeno fino a quando non ti accorgi che li stanno guadagnando tutti gli Eroi della squadra; sono circa 1000 gold per Torre.
Questo non significa che una strategia di push sia necessariamente la migliore [NdT: anche se nel metagame attuale, questa è la strategia preferita dai pro team]. Quello che è importante ricordare, è che è importante difendere le proprie Torri e distruggere quelle nemiche. NOTA: non dimenticare mai che è possibile denyiare una torre che abbia 10% pf o meno; in questo caso, la quantità di Oro guadagnata dal team nemico è dimezzata.
Cerca di capire come funziona l'aggro delle Torri. Non è immediatamente ovvio, ma le Torri non scelgono i propri bersagli in maniera totalmente casuale. Le meccaniche precise sono piuttosto complesse, ma in linea di massima possiamo dire che l'ordine di priorità generale delle Torri è:
1) Unità che attaccano Eroi alleati (NOTA: utilizzare un'abilità non è considerato un attacco! Questo significa che potete blastare i vostri nemici senza paura che la Torre cambi bersaglio; particolarmente importante per Eroi che hanno abilità-attacco spammabili come Viper o Drow Ranger)
2) Unità melee
3) Unità Ranged
Tuttavia, è possibile "forzare" queste regole di ingaggio con alcuni trucchi. Ad esempio, se siete sotto attacco da una torre, potete dare un comando di attacco (di base "A"+ click sx) su un creep alleato e la torre smetterà immediatamente di attaccarvi. Potete anche "aggrare" la torre, dando il comando di attacco (di nuovo "A" + click sx") contro il bersaglio attuale della Torre.
In soldoni: non dovreste mai essere il bersaglio di una Torre a meno che non lo vogliate. Come ciliegina sulla torta, l'aggro dei creep funziona su basi molto simili
LATE GAME

Gli oggetti sono stati acquistati. Gli Eroi sono aumentati di livello e non sono più tanto fragili. E' il "late game", in cui si decide l'esito della partita. [NdT: in realtà, l'esito della partita è spesso deciso dall'early e dal mid game.]
Conosci il tuo Ruolo. A questo punto della partita, occorre che tu sappia al 100% qual'è il tuo ruolo all'interno della squadra. Sei un support? Dovresti avere oggetti di utilità generica. Sei un carry? I tuoi oggetti dovrebbero permetterti di esserlo, ora. Se stai ancora cercando di decidere, probabilmente ormai è troppo tardi.
E' ora di Oggetti grossi. Quando un singolo scontro può decidere l'esito della partita, non puoi più accontentarti di oggetti economici ma di basso profilo. Se c'è qualcosa che puoi fare per rendere il tuo eroe grosso e cattivo, questo è il momento giusto. [NdT: aggiungo una cosa importantitssima che questa guida non dice...Nel Late Game, assicuratevi di avere SEMPRE abbastanza gold per un buyback - ovvero per poter resuscitare istantaneamente. In questo modo, se anche il nemico vince uno scontro 5v5 potrete difendere la base. NOTA: in un pubgame, fatelo SOLO se non siete l'unico a farlo. 1v5 è quasi come 0v5 in genere).
PUSH PUSH PUSH. Indipendentemente dalla strategia scelta, a questo punto tutti vogliono pushare.
La tua squadra ha appena vinto uno scontro 5v5 (Teamfight)? Non sprecate questa opportunità per farmare, ma pushate più duramente possibile e infliggete quanto più danno possibile prima che gli eroi nemici tornino in vita.
La Baracca giusta è quella a Destra. Le Baracche sono edifici speciali nella base nemica; sorgono proprio dietro l'ultima torre di ogni lane e ce ne sono 2 per Lane. La Baracca di Sinistra è legata ai creep ranged e quella di Destra ai creep melee. Se ne distruggete una, i vostri creep di quella Lane diventeranno esponenzialmente più forti. Ovviamente, se potete abbatterne una sola perchè il tempo scarseggia, quella giusta è quella a Destra, dato che i creep melee sono di più.
UN ESEMPIO CONCRETO
A questo LINK potete trovare una partita giocata ieri sera tra Dignitas e Na'Vi, due delle migliori squadre professioniste al mondo. E' importante perchè mostra chiaramente i concetti espressi in quest'ultimo paragrafo della guida sulle cose imprevedibili che possono accadere nel Late Game. La partita inizia al minuto 22; è un game insolitamente lungo (circa 45 minuti), ma questo è abbastanza ovvio, dato che si tratta di un game importante per il Late game :D
Come gia detto, devi comprare degli Oggetti che si abbinino al ruolo del tuo Eroe. Tuttavia c'è molta più strategia dietro all'acquisto di un Oggetto piuttosto che un'altro, e una guida può coprire solamente le situazioni più comuni. Ovviamente il tuo oro va speso, ma come?

Solo perchè qualcosa ha funziona in una partita, non significa che funzioni sempre. Situazioni differenti richiedono scelte diverse. Se un pro riesce a farmare una Radiance in 15 minuti sul suo carry, se tu ce ne metti 45 l'utilità dell'oggetto cambia drasticamente. Molte delle guide su playdota.com presuppongono che tu riesca a farmare una quantità decente di gold per l'eroe che hai scelto...ma se non ci riesci, devi adattare il tuo item build di conseguenza. L'oro non speso è inutile.
Nel dubbio, aiuta la squadra. Comprare un Courier/Ward/Dust è un compito riservato ai support. Giocando pub, però, si è spesso costretti a convivere con support che pensano di essere carry: in questi casi, a meno che non siano incredibilmente skillati, si perde. Qualora accadesse, devi essere tu a comprare questi oggetti, indipendentemente dal tuo ruolo. Giocare senza è senz'altro peggio rispetto a quello che costano.
Alcuni oggetti servono per vincere. Oltre ai gia nominati Courier/Ward, esistono alcuni oggetti di utilità che ogni squadra, a un certo punto, dovrebbe possedere. Oltre a fornire stat, questi oggetti hanno un'abilità attivabile così utile che non può mancare in nessun game: in particolare, Force Staff (permette di "spingere" un bersaglio di 500 unità nella direzione in cui sta camminando...utilissima sia per difendere che per offendere), Mekansm (Cura+buff AoE), Pipe of Insight ("scudo" contro i danni Magici da 400 punti), Arcane Boots (ripristina il mana di tutti gli alleati di 150 punti quando utilizzato). Se siete dei support, questi oggetti sono estremamente utili; se non lo siete - ma nessuno nel vostro team li ha comprati - potrebbe essere una buona idea acquistarli (a meno che non siate un hard carry).
Un altro oggetto sottovalutato: Magic Wand. Se non sapete cosa acquistare nell'early game, questo oggetto è ottimo nel 99% delle situazioni. Non solo utilizza 3 Iron Branch (un oggetto acquistato spessissimo nell'early game), ma permette di avere accesso a una cura a sopresa, utile non solo per l'ovvio motivo (duh), ma anche perchè vi permette di effettuare dei giochetti mentali interessanti con i vostri nemici - di fatto, con 15 cariche avete 225 PF e Mana aggiuntivi.
4. MI STAVO SCORDANDO CHE HO 4 COMPAGNI DI SQUADRA
Non dimentichiamoci che Dota è un gioco di squadra. Ci sono altre 4 persone nel tuo team che stanno cercando - in teoria - di vincere. Ci sono cinque persone nell'altra squadra che stanno cercando di fare la stessa cosa. Ad un certo punto, il lavoro di squadra fa la differenza. Accettare il fatto che stai giocando con altre persone ed imparare a cooperare è un'aspetto chiave di Dota.

Non fare lo stronzo. Non è che io stia cercando di creare una nuova generazione di giocatori di Dota gentili. "Non fare lo stronzo" è un buon consiglio, a conti fatti.
Per ovvi motivi, chi viene aggredito ed insultato tenderà a non fare assolutamente quello che chiedi, per quanto illuminato possa essere. Ancora meglio! Potresti addirittura trovare qualcuno con cui giocare anche in game successivi! Incredibile, lo so.
Se stai giocando a Dota2, comprati un microfono. La conoscenza è potere; e in un gioco di squadra, questa conoscenza deve essere comunicata anche agli altri: solo perchè tu vedi qualcosa, non significa che anche i tuoi compagni se ne siano accorti. Scrivere è un metodo lento e che rimuove momentaneamente la tua capacità di controllare il gioco. Ma per l'amor di dio, non parlare dei cazzi tuoi se agli altri non interessa: avere un microfono non significa che non devi tacere un secondo.
Anche un piano di merda è meglio di niente. Anche se sei consapevole di quale dev'essere la strategia del tuo team, se gli altri non la sanno è inutile. La coesione è incredibilmente importante in Dota: 5 è meglio di 4, che è meglio di 3 e così via. Anche se il piano è così stupido da rendere probabile una sconfitta, 5 giocatori che vanno in giro a cazzo matto perderanno sicuramente.
ESEMPIO: se il vostro Vengeful Spirit decide che deve essere il carry del vostro team e comincia a rubare farm e kill a destra e a manca, è meglio adeguarsi e supportarlo piuttosto che insultarlo ed isolarlo. E' possibile che perdiate, ma isolando un membro della squadra (sopratutto considerando che i kill/farm sono una risorsa limitata e che ormai sono andati a lui) e giocando in 4v5 è sostanzialmente certo che questo accadrà.
Non importa quanto tu sia intelligente, le flame war all'interno del team sono quasi sempre una cattiva idea. Ok, c'è un tuo compagno di squadra che stronzeggia e dice tutte quelle cose che ti fanno desiderare di poter prendere a pugni qualcuno attraverso internet. Magari sei anche riuscito a rispondere con qualche insulto divertente alle sue farneticazioni...quindi? Ti sei assicurato qualche risata e ti sei alienato totalmente un compagno di squadra. E questo è male, come spiegato sopra. In ogni caso, non ti aiuta minimamente a vincere la partita.
Fai sempre conto che i kill vanno al carry. Se c'è la possibilità per il carry della squadra di ottenere il kill, devi lasciarglielo. Più velocemente il carry farma, più velocemente si vince. Ovviamente questo non significa rischiare di farsi sfuggire un kill; ma la dove questo è certo, il lasthit spetta al carry.
Ovviamente se c'è un semicarry estremamente farmato e il vostro carry è invece molto indietro, il semicarry diventa il carry [NdT: un eroe "semicarry" ha le potenzialità per sfruttare il farm, ma funziona bene anche con una quantità minore di gold in tasca. Esempi classici sono Mirana e il Nightstalker.]
Ora che ci siamo occupati dei compagni di squadra, è ora di concentrarci su quegli altri tizi...quelli che hanno il tuo stesso obbiettivo. A un certo punto, dovrai vedertela con loro. Ecco alcuni consigli per i Team Fight.

Pensa. Man mano che giochi a Dota, la tua comprensione del gioco aumenta, ovviamente. Il campo in cui tale comprensione è più importante è durante i Team Fight. Il farm, i gank e i push sono importanti, ma prima o poi avverrà uno scontro 5v5; e la squadra che riesce meglio in questi scontri è, generalmente, quella che vince la partita. In pratica funziona così:
Un niubbo pensa: "CHE CAZZO STA SUCCEDENDO?"
Un principiante pensa: "Cosa dovrei fare in questo scontro?"
Un giocatore con una comprensione basilare del gioco pensa: "Che cosa dovrei fare per la mia squadra in questo scontro?"
Un giocatore intermedio pensa: "Che cosa deve fare l'altra squadra in questo scontro?"
Un giocatore esperto pensa: "Che cosa dobbiamo fare per impedire all'altra squadra di fare quello che devono fare?"
Non c'è una risposta semplice, e l'unico maestro in questo caso è il tempo e la pratica - come per la maggior parte delle cose complesse. Il problema principale è che dota ha più di 100 Eroi, e solo dopo aver compreso profondamente quello che ciascuno di loro può fare in un Team Fight, puoi cominciare a pensare ad un counter. Il Team più forte non è necessariamente quello con il piano migliore, ma quello che riesce a fare in corsa i cambiamenti necessari per mettere i bastoni tra le ruote al team nemico.
Forza i nemici a prendere decisioni senza conoscere tutti gli elementi. Anche un team abilissimo ad adattarsi non può farlo, se non sa a cosa deve adattarsi. Un Earthshaker con o senza Blink Dagger fa la differenza tra la vittoria e la sconfitta in un Teamfight; evita di dare informazioni preziose. Un Tidehunter di 6° livello è esponenzialmente più pericoloso di uno di 5°.
Anche una volta che i nemici conoscono le tue potenzialità, non sanno comunque quando le utilizzerai, e questo può essere utilizzato a tuo vantaggio. Più decisioni deve prendere il nemico, più aumenta la possibilità che compia un errore.
Anche il modo in cui ti muovi sulla mappa può essere utilizzato per ingannare il nemico - o viceversa, può essere da lui utilizzato per capire le tue intenzioni.
Nel dubbio, assumi come dato di fatto che il nemico abbia fatto la scelta giusta. In sostanza, questo significa "aspettarsi il peggio". Se il Tidehunter dell'altra squadra ha un Blink Dagger, quanto danno può infliggere con la sua ultimate usata al momento giusto? Se la risposta è "siamo tutti morti", devi giocare tentando di limitare quel danno: ucciderlo prima che possa essere lui a iniziare il Teamfight, o dividersi in modo che non riesca a colpire tutti, etc. Utilizzare questo approccio ha diversi vantaggi: non ti permette mai di sottovalutare i nemici; ti insegna qual'è l'approccio ottimale ad ogni Teamfight; e, infine, se i tuoi avversari non giocano al meglio, aumenta esponenzialmente le possibilità di vittoria nello scontro.
Se la tua morte è certa, fagliela pagare. Questo è particolarmente vero nei teamfight (mentre, se vieni gankato da solo e i tuoi alleati non sono nei pressi, può essere una buona idea cercare di fare tutto quello che puoi per salvarti). Cerca innanzitutto di far perdere tempo ai nemici: più si concentrano su di te, più tempo i tuoi alleati hanno per ucciderli. Se proprio non hai possibilità di ritardare la tua morte, passa a miglior vita con il botto: cerca di essere quanto più utile possibile ai tuoi compagni di squadra prima della tua dipartita. Hai dei nuke? Usali. Hai dei disable? Usali. Hai delle cure, dei buff, dei debuff? Usali usali usali. L'unica skill sprecata è quella non utilizzata.
Non importa quanto tu ti sforzi, non diventerai un buon giocatore in un giorno. Se anche sei un buon giocatore, puoi sempre migliorare. Applicare i consigli di questa guida è un buon metodo per farlo. Se avete qualsiasi consiglio o domanda, sparate pure!

All'epoca c'era l'apply su steam. Io ho partecipato e mi han preso, me ne han regalate anche 2 per gli amici (una data a Kali e una a Shagaz).
Trovo strano che altrove non ne diano/non se ne parli come per la beta di Diablo, anche perchè, nonostante non ci stia giocando più per vari impegni, la beta di Dota 2 è praticamente il gioco completo.
Altro che quella di Diablo III, a me sembra fatto e finito. Aggiungono nuove classi ogni tanto e migliorano i bilanciamenti con le patch, ma è giocabilissimo e molto divertente così com'è.... peraltro sta beta sta durando una vita :D

Spedito! Nel frattempo, se vi capita, stanno iniziando una partita i Na'Vi (la miglior squadra al mondo) sul torneo di Gosu Gamers. Stan pickando degli eroi super lol perchè giocano contro una squadretta.
