Amazon’s adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s story is going strong, so it’s no surprise that the show’s been renewed for a third season. And with that third season comes a new—and hopefully permanent—showrunner.
Eric Overmyer, who has already developed and produced an Amazon show (Bosch), is being brought in to replace Frank Spotnitz, who created the TV adaptation but left The Man in the High Castle in the middle of season two. Spotnitz’s departure was framed by Amazon as being geography-based,as Spotnitz lives in Paris, the show is filmed in Vancouver. However, the abrupt nature of the change, which happened while season two was still in production and caused them to halt while everything was sorted out, implies that it was a little more than that. Reports indicate that Spotnitz and Amazon did not get along.
Presumably, Overmyer’s history with Amazon makes it think that picking him will be smoother. And, it should be noted, season two of The Man of the High Castle didn’t even have a permanent showrunner after Spotnitz left—all the other producers were tasked with picking up the job.
According to Amazon, The Man in the High Castle is its biggest hit, despite the behind-the-scenes problems. There was never much of a chance that the show wouldn’t get a third season. Now all that remains to be seen is what changes, if any, Overmyer will bring to the series.

L'adattamento tv ha molte differenze alcune minori altre sostanziali con il libro, inoltre il libro ha un finale aperto e non conclusivo al punto che Philip K. Dick si era riproposto più volte di continuare la storia, che a quanto pare doveva essere una serie di libri, con un sequel che non ha mai scritto. Si dice perché si era schifato di scrivere sui nazisti, cosi come si dice che furono ritrovati dopo la sua morte alcuni capitoli dell'asserito sequel, poi chissa'.Quote:

Idealmente possono andare anche molto oltre dato che non e' per nulla una trasposizione fedele del romanzo ma una serie tv _vagamente basata_ sul concept, alcuni aspetti della storia ed alcuni personaggi del romanzo.
insomma vediti le prime 2 season poi aspetta la terza e gg: potrebbe anche essercene una quarta, una quinta ed oltre, quindi la maratona te la fai tra N anni.
la seconda serie si risolleva un po', ma risulta comunque una serie pesante.
Alcune cose sono molto fantasiose (più del dovuto diciamo :sneer: ) però si può sopprassedere.

e la seconda stagione è anche meglio della prima
bella la faccia di Smith quando viene salutato nell'arena che fa già capire la direzione che vogliono fargli prendere.
ho bisogno di vedermela con calma sta 2nd season, altrimenti rischio di lasciarla lì dopo 2 puntate (mi sono addormentato - letteralmente - alla prima...). La 1 ci ha messo troppo per salire di ritmo; non so se è un'impressione personale dovuta al fatto che ormai ci sono molte (forse troppe) serie in giro e per giunta su più piattaforme, oppure se veramente ha un ritmo basso, soprattutto nelle parti relative ai Giapponesi.

Mi è piaciuta la quarta serie anche se il finale un po' rushato e chiusura alla deux ex machina :/
