Ladrinu! Un feedback sul demonologist? :D
Attaccati e tira, arrangiati te! :sneer:

1) What was your perception of this class before you started playing it? In other words, what was your expectation of this class?

2) In what ways has this class lived up to your expectations, and in what ways has this class differed from your expectations?

3) In a few words, what is the biggest issue with this class?

4) Please summarize this class as a whole, as it is right now, in 50 words or less.

I play a level 80 Demonologist on PvP server.

1) & 2) I expected to come across a typical wizard or mage type of nuker mage, depending on if the pet was actually doing damage or just being a buff like a wizards familiar. I quickly found the pet is more of a familiar than a damagedealer, and the demo resembles more a wizard than a mage (thinking EQ classic mage here,or DAoC cabalist, but with elemental pets). I hoped we were getting multiple pets like necros get, just not as many and even though theres a feat that summon an army of imps its largely not the case.

3) Fire spec being vastly inferior to havok. Lightning has the range, the damage, the knockbacks, the snares and all the other key feats you need as a mage, along with copper storm chains that make the root stronger. Pet's effect being far too weak and i often times don't even bother summoning one because the annoying sounds they make and the fact that their buffs or damage arent all that great outweigh whatever positive sides there are to having them around. They're also generic looking and dont differ much from level 9 to 80,I expected there to be some sort of lightningbased demon along the way. Not sure if the current ones are placeholders though.

I'm also a little concerned about the defensive tricks we get. Rooting a tank coming at you is fine, but since he can whip out a x-bow and kill you in 3-4 hits rooting them doesnt help much. Also knockback never works against them, and i mean never, tried 30-40 times vs a conq friend and expected resists but not a complete and utter immunity. The snare has a too long cast time to be useful,by the time you get it off the enemy is already on top of you eating your fact. One of my favorite feats is thunderclap which does cone damage and has a chance to knock back with every pulse.

4) This is a classic wizard, killing stuff at a range and alot of them at once with AoE spells. Though you more or less have to go lightning spec because of the increased range and superior damage due to defensive measures not quite working (in pvp).

Suggestions:

Diversify the elements:
Give additional effects to spells from feats,i.e give shockstrike a chance to stun or knockback (not a big chance, maybe 10% with 3-5 points spent) or add blinding effects to shockstrike/shock causing melee attacks to miss sometimes, but ranged attacks to miss a great deal. This would make sense since lightning is obviously very bright and has some force when striking the ground (look what happens to a tree when it gets hit)
Fire could have effects such as intensive DoT (doing more damage per tick than incinerate does now),a chance to panic/fear the enemy (who wouldnt panic if engulfed in flames?) similarily to shockstrikes stun/knock chance, or have a chance to snare the enemy.

I would also consider diversifying damage rates on different targets, making lightning more effective on heavy armored targets and fire more effective on light/cloth targets with the simple logic that cloth/leather burns more easily and the more metal armor has the more easily it conducts electricity.

The pets:
Enable multiple pets,or strenghten the effects/damage they have/do.And by multiple i don't mean having 10-15 pets like the necros do,but 2-4 of them. If neither of those are possible, consider adding some kind of effect to the pets spell that he casts, preferably some sort of crowdcontrol and/or resistance debuff.
Again,i would like to see lightning based pets as well as fire based ones, since using a fire based pet while being completely lightning spec doesnt make much sense or appear very useful.
