ODIN’S BOUNTY WEEKEND!
This weekend, heroes will have the opportunity to do Odin’s work and be appropriately rewarded!
Arriving in your inventory as of Friday is a gift from Odin - a box of a of Odin Marks (containing a minimum of 5 Odin Marks and chances to get more, all the way up to 100 Odin Marks as the rarest amount) and boons of all three types!
In addition, Odin will be granting additional loot for defeating particular supervillains, based on a real world, rotating schedule!

Additionally, Odin has agreed to help you bolster your ranks, or improve yourself via a Random Hero Box which is available in the in-game store for this weekend only!
Not only will you receive a random hero from the entire roster of 30 heroes, but you will receive TWO character tokens in every random box.
Like the Random Hero Box that can be purchased with Eternity Splinters, this box can contain a hero you already own, but you would them receive 2 tokens that can be used to upgrade your ultimate power.
GAMBIT DESIGN REVIEW
In order to ensure the Ragin’ Cajun is as powerful as he ought to be, we’ve given him a small design review with new animations, a new signature power, and many tuning and mechanical changes! Check out @TheArtofRawr’s post here for details!
COSMIC TERMINAL CHANGES
To ensure Cosmic Terminals are providing high reward and high risk, we’ve increased the difficulty of enemies in Cosmic Terminals and increased the rewards.
This includes increasing the chances of Cosmic Medallions dropping in cosmic terminals and slightly increasing the drop rarity of medallions, rings and all other items.
In future weeks, we'll continue to tune all modes and terminals to ensure they are worth the risk vs. reward, so stay tuned.
ITEM CHANGES
Increased chances of boss specific artifacts dropping in Cosmic Terminals. The largest increase was Gem of the Kursed. It's still the rarest artifact in the game, but not quite as difficult to farm as previously.
Boons can no longer be used in hubs. This is in order to prevent “boon parties” from crashing hubs.
Boons can no longer override other players boons and cause issues with duration. Other players boons will now correctly extend the duration of your boon. This may result in losing boon effects derived from other players on login, but you will no longer lose these on switching heroes.
Gambit has two brand new unique items in addition to his current uniques being revised to coincide with his Design Review.
Many of the item and loot updates described last week are in full development and will launch in the coming days and weeks, with many more quality of life additions added each day.
X-DEFENSE CHANGE - REDUCING LEAVERS
To greatly reduce the number of players who leave X-Defense early, the largest rewards for X-Defense is now awarded at the end of the entire X-Defense run, in the form of a reward chest.
This chest appears once all students have been captured and has a higher chance of dropping uniques, cosmic items and other good stuff as the group completes higher waves of X-Defense.
In addition, Doop waves no longer appears at Wave 10, 15, 20, etc. in X-Defense. They will appear at random levels instead. When they do appear, they will now appear in a group of seven Doops!
It will now be extremely inefficient to leave the mode early, since you would be giving up on the final loot chest. There is still some amount of loot throughout each wave.
OTHER GAME MODE CHANGES
Holo-Sim now fails on two team defeats, meaning one player (even solo) can be defeated twice, or two players can each be defeated once.
You will no longer be removed from Holo-Sim once the game mode ends (so you can still collect items!)
Chests opened in X-Defense and Holo-Sim will now grant loot for all players on the map, regardless of distance.
In X-Defense, Dr. Doom no longer summons any enemy other than Doombot Flyers, but he deals 20% more damage to compensate for his reduced reinforcements. Additionally, he has received some art changes so that the performance issues of this wave will be less problematic.
The escalation of difficulty and rewards in the S.H.I.E.L.D. Holo-Sim has been increased.
UI CHANGES
Mission Tracker should no longer flip between pages when changing regions.
Item broadcasts will now work properly at level 60.
Many other UI changes are in progress for the next several patches, including some top player requests. More information later in the month.
STORE CHANGES
Gambit - Forever City Costume
Jean Grey - All New X-Men Costume
Limited Time Random Hero Box - With 2 Character Tokens per box for the hero that is randomly rolled. Equal chance to get any hero, including Moon Knight. This is not a regular store item and may be removed at any time.
BUG FIXES
Many small bug fixes have been collected into this patch and several others are being prepared for next week and the week after. Highlights from this week include:
Fixed an issue with tumble/roll movement powers stopping prematurely when bound to mouse.
Fixed bug where target lock could be lost after recovering from a CC effect.
Fixed bug with consumable items being used on pickup.
Nightcrawler's Flash and Grab will now trigger proc effects correctly.
Fixed an issue where the tracker interface in X-Defense and S.H.I.E.L.D. Holo-Sim would stack on itself.
Fixed an issue where Squirrel Girl’s Nutcracker was not receiving the 3% bonus per squirrel.
Iron Man's Wrist Rocket will now correctly gain bonuses from Ranged and Area tags on its DoT portion.
Fixed an issue where Moon Knight’s Staff Sweep could be channeled while moving.
Fixed an issue where Moon Knight’s Explosive Crescent Darts were not displaying vulnerability VFX on their targets.
Fixed an issue where mouse-following movement powers were respecting the "stop movement" key (default Left-Shift). Hitting shift will no longer stop these powers from moving your hero.
IN DEVELOPMENT - LEVEL 52 REVIEWS
Black Panther level 52 review is close to being ready for player review and feedback. Approximately two weeks.
Black Widow level 52 review has several powers still in development, specifically the new Ultimate power which is in the engineering and animation process. Approximately 4 weeks.
Wolverine, Storm, Cyclops, Jean Grey level 52 reviews are being designed and in very early stages. Some of these may be ready for the X-Men movie and others will follow afterwards. Jean Grey in particular will likely be the most complicated and will require the longest lead time.
Punisher, Thor, Hulk, Scarlet Witch, Cable, Thing and Deadpool's level 52 reviews are in very early stages and will follow immediately afterwards at the rate of 1-2 per month until all are complete. Battle Vans, Hyper-Viper Beams and real Godblasts are on their way.
Rocket Raccoon's level 52 review will coincide with the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, along with a new costume.
Iron Man's level 52 review will likely include one returning power and some quality of life changes, so it will be done when time permits.
For all level 52 reviews, please continue to post feedback in each hero section in the official "Level 52 Review" feedback threads. They are read closely by the design team and have been instrumental in decisions of which powers to prioritize adding over the others.
IN DEVELOPMENT - TUNING PASS
A complete internal tuning pass of every item and power is underway with help from the most-recent hires from the Marvel Heroes community, the items team and several designers. The goal of this tuning pass is to greatly increase the number of viable items and powers that are desirable and fix any tuning problems that exist.
The items with the lowest usability will likely receive the most significant buffs based on our internal metrics tracking, item budgeting and common sense.
IN DEVELOPMENT - MORE STUFF
The raid backend system is mostly complete and the encounters are in design. The first raid for Marvel Heroes will complete the Asgard story arc and another story arc will begin later in the year.
Early work on the achievements tracking system has begun, with an incredible amount of new functionality being built with it. The goal is to have the most robust and interesting achievement system for any RPG by using the best ideas from game's were played combined with new and uniques ideas that we can only do with a Marvel ARPG.
PVP continues to steadily march towards the completion of Beta mode and into full mode with weekly tuning and quality of life improvements. Several very large improvements are scheduled for March and April in preparation for the full launch and many others will follow including an announcer, stat tracking, leaderboards, rewards, balanced matchmaking and more.
Legendary quest sharing is still iterating internally and will launch for more testing in the coming weeks.
Trading UI visuals are complete and the backend engineering will start testing after Dr. Strange work has been complete.
Dr. Strange will launch on March 28, with approximately 2 weeks of testing and daily iteration before that.
Team-Ups will launch with the Captain America movie. Spider-Man and the movie-inspired Falcon will be the first, with many to follow.
