Luck Items:
Now that Luck items have actual value attached to them, its time to see if they are indeed like the luck system implemented in Mythos. Post any findings about how the +luck bonus increases loot drops as you go through the beta.
In Mythos, it seemed that once the +luck got into the 5k there was a noticeable difference while in the 10K+ there was a substantial variance to the quality of loot dropping in general. Also +luck affects the chance of barrels and chests dropping anything at all. At +5k in Mythos, most smashed items rewarded loot of some kind.
Tri-Icon (Tricon?) Mini Game:
This is continued from the Alpha boards thread I started. Since both Luck and the mini game seem to be tailored towards effecting loot drops (unconfirmed) I decided to merge them both into one thread of discussion.
A New Theory
The completion of the mini game will allow subsequent areas or loaded in areas to spawn champion mobs (yellow, blue, and/or orange).
There are 3 different types of icon sets to the mini-game:
Items, Damage, Quest Stage Completion and Monsters
When is the game active?
The mini game is always active, even in the train stations. Its those three golden outline icons with numbers on them at the lower right of your screen. The object is to complete the game before returning to a safe area (train station hub). If you enter a station area, the game resets. When you leave from the station, the game resets again. If you port between stations, the game will reset each time you port.
To meet the requirements of the icons you have to either:
1. Loot a matching item
2. Deal Damage of the required type
3. Receive Damage of the require type
4. Kill monster of designated type
Once the icons go from wire frame to color - they will reset to a new game board and some sort of bonus hypothetically occurs. What the bonus is and what the duration of the bonus is has yet to be determined.
Known Monster Types:
Beast (Fangs)
Necro (Hand)
Demon (Inverted Pentagram)
Spectral (Vortex)
Known Damage Types:
Toxic (Bio-Hazard)
Physical (Hammer)
Critical (Explosion)
Electric (Lightning Bolt)
Spectral (Vortex Again?)
Fire* (Flame)
*includes damage from exploding barels and gas canisters as fire damage
Known Item Types:
Blades and Melee (Sword)
Mods (Wrench)
Range Weapon (Gun)
Enhanced Item* (Pentagram)
Armor (Helmet)
*any non-white/gray items
Quest Stage Completion: (Illuminati/Pyramid)
This icon is completed when you advance in a quest. Such as Killing the quest monster (ex: Bag o' Bones), getting an item needed for quest completion (ex: capacitors) or interacting with a quest object (ex: A tree).
Attached below is a handy graphical chart to help identify the icons easier, thanks to Blackitude (and Terror-Teddy).
