As a DH fan here's some things that every DH should know when doing solo farms.
With the current legendaries out, there have been a few items around that makes followers (Irena, Lyndon, Cormac?) viable! Aside from giving you buffs and the occasional fodder, these items seem to make them very nice to have around now!

Best Scoundrel Weapon by a LARGE margin IMO. I've tried Windforce and Hellrack, and they're not even close. Piercing lets him shoot through mobs and freeze stuff all over the place. Don't have to worry about him knocking things in the wrong direction either. Buriza also come standard with cold damage.

Been using this lately and having the bleed chance 6000-8000 is pretty nice. The root chance is around 20% and if you get one with stun as well, you get a nice crowd control buddy. Set him up with the 3rd skill that fires multiple arrows at the same time and he looks awesome. The best part is, you can buy it at under 500k! Root is really good for running goblins!

The scoundrel's multishot seems to have roughly have a .50% coefficient, so the knockback chance is quite noticeable. I wouldn't give up a slow (cold damage) for the knockback though, so you need to get a cold damage amulet or ring to pair with the windforce since it doesn't have inherit cold damage (I used a legacy puzzle ring for this).

Just bought one and this thing does really cool damage. It procs 50% of the time and the whatever steps on the acid blobs takes damage. It hits good enough for Lyndon to make normal mob kills just by himself. That is assuming that you let him fire on his own for a minute or two.

Skycutter. Proc rate is quite good about 20% on the templar per hit Angel does about 10k per hit lasts for about 20secs. Only 1 can be summoned per Skycutter at a time.

He can freeze the enemies with this blade. However, I didn't notice any knockback.

Proc rate on an enchantress is very good if you spec into the 1st knockback damage ability and the aoe ability. It seems the demon can proc off those too. Every bigger group of mobs i fight the demon will spawn and help out. Demon does about 36k damage per hit and if i see correctly the firechains does pretty substantial damage too. 10k per tick?

The bleed procs and stacks from her AoE erosion DoT ticks. Her erosion is on a 15 sec cd, it ticks 5 times over 3 secs, the bleed proc ticks over 5 secs and will stack with itself getting stronger then weaker as bleeds stack from erosion then drop off as their individual 5 secs counts down. 7 secs after the last AoE bleed stops ticking, her erosion is off cd and cast again.

Puzzle Ring Legacy (Erebus#1686)
Add Cold damage on your attacks. Got to slow em all with that multishot. You can use this on other followers as well but seems best for scoundrel since his attacks are all ranged. See Windforce for nice combo vouch as well.

Used this on my wizard and a ghost thing haunts a random single enemy. It procs really often, at almost 90% I'd say. Damage is around 4k per pop though I've also seen around 3k and will have to investigate more on how damage works.

I just found a 25% leorics signet while lvling in act 2 normal and equipped it onto the follower and I gained a 5% bonus, so the same as mf and gf.

One thing I can suggest is the Star of Azkaranth amulet... it has all sorts of procs, including fear, knockback, stun. Ranging up to 5%, and it comes with vitality, and it's cheap, you can get it for about 200k.

To add cold damage, I added the eye of Etlich amulet. The DPS went down abit (because he had a better amulet be4) but it's cool to see cold damage.
