12 Oct 2006 - Ubisoft sheds some light on the multiplayer features of its red hot exclusive Wii game.


While Ubisoft's Wii exclusive Red Steel will lack online multiplayer, it will offer a tremendous amount of offline, splitscreen enjoyment, along with original modes. Lead designer Roman Campos-Oriola recently spoke with EuroGamer and revealed how Ubisoft plans to integrate the speaker into play, to create gameplay like never before.

"At E3, when Nintendo unveiled the speaker on the Wiimote, we thought, 'Okay, with this speaker we can make a really different, specific game mode that you can only have on the Wii.'"

One such mode that takes advantage of the speaker is called 'Killer' and Campos-Oriola explained, "It's almost like classic deathmatch - you frag people and score points - but each player has a specific objective that gives you bonus points."

The catch is, however, that the Wii-mote will ring like a telephone and players will hold the device to their ear to be provided with a special task - without competitors hearing!

"One objective could be, 'Kill player number four and avoid killing any other players.' If you kill any player before killing number four, you'll have negative points," said Campos-Oriola. "If you manage to achieve your objective, you'll get bonus points; if you can't do it, you'll have negative points."

"It's really interesting and really adds fun to a standard deathmatch."

Tagliando corto, i giocatori in multiplayer (locale, split) riceveranno delle informazioni personali come obbiettivo tramite lo speaker del Wii mote :)

Mi pare fica la cosa, azzo, speriamo che ora la PS3 non ritardera' ancora di piu perche'dovranno infilare tweeter e subwoofer dentro all pad :sneer:

povera sony, quanto lavoro ancora da fare su quei controller :sneer:

Fantastico poi il Wiimote utilizzato per la comunicazione con altri players in un gioco multi online tipo Metroid. :nod:

peccato che una cosa del genere lo faceva già il 360 all'uscita... bastava attaccarci le cuffie.. il che era anche meglio visto che cosi' non si scassava i coglioni a nessuno ^ ^

mi sa che non hai capito bene il funzionamento, anche perche' sull xbox locale non fa differenza tra le cuffie, ricevono tutte le stesse informazioni (prendi nota locale), pensa te che figata "dlin dlon: player 2 uccidi il player 4" , grazie al cazzo , a sto punto lo potevi far dire tramite l impianto dolby surroind no?

Questo e' semplicemente un implementazione di una cosa stupida che si faceva con 2 soldi, che non ha niente a che vedere con le cuffie.

Se a 3 mesi dal lancio (la prima data che avevano detto) hanno ancora il software che si autoriavvia e si surriscalda che possono fare porelli?

finora non avevano scadenza xche tanto nn c'era concorrenza e uscivano quando gli pareva...ma ora? BOOOM IN RITARDO DI 6 MESI SU NINTENDO!!
