Shuhei Yoshida, presidente di Sony Worldwide Studios, in una recente intervista ha dichiarato che l'esperienza maturata con PSP in relazione alla pirateria ha insegnato molte cose alla società. Gli insegnamenti sono stati messi in atto nello sviluppo di Vita, in questo modo Yoshida ha affermato che per tutti i pirati e hacker sarà davvero molto difficile riuscire a violare la nuova console, che stando alle sue stime resterà in commercio per almeno altri 8 anni.
