    > PowerRating -- DivX, Inc. (NASDAQIVX) today announced that DivX(R)
    video technology will be integrated into PLAYSTATION(R)3 (PS3(TM)) from
    Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCE). The popular computer
    entertainment system will be added to the ecosystem of devices that
    currently support DivX video playback. To date, over 100 million DivX
    Certified(R) products have been shipped into the market, and it is
    anticipated PS3 will significantly expand that number.

    "We are excited to work with Sony Computer Entertainment to bring DivX
    to PS3," said Kevin Hell, CEO of DivX, Inc. "Our technology will expand
    the multimedia functionality of PS3 by enabling users to enjoy access to
    the broad library of content in the DivX digital media format."

    Products that bear the DivX Certified logo have undergone a rigorous
    testing program to ensure a high-quality DivX media experience that
    includes reliable video playback and excellent visual quality. DivX is
    currently working to certify PS3 and deliver a superior digital media
    technology to consumers in the near future. Current PS3 end users will
    be able to add DivX functionality to their systems via a separate system
    software update at a forthcoming date. PS3 game title developers will be
    able to utilize DivX's decoder technology by updating the system
    software of PS3's Software Development Kit to version 2.00, which was
    released by SCE on November 2nd.

    si ma cosi è molto piu pratico

    tralasciando il fatto che io ho attaccato direttamente pc alla tv quindi non lo utilizzero nemmeno..

    Mah oddio + pratico, alla fine come faccio ora ho l'accesso ad un boato di GB di dati video, basta un click e cmq me lo vedo su PS3 + Vpr.

    L'unica cosa che cambierebbe è che uno potrebbe metterli nell'HD della PS3 e lanciarli da XMB però personalmente cambierebbe poco.

    e, io c'ho vista e sai bene che ho provato a far come te, ma non ce so riuscito
    quindi magari .. .p

    poi cmq ci son persone che i divx non se li scaricano da soli, magari se li fanno passare da amici in dvd (a me capita di farne tanti) e poi se li ficcano direttamente nella ps3 anzi che sul pc

    Il dlna è una feature avanzata che usano utenti smanettoni.
    Il poter lanciare divx direttamente dalla xmb è una cosa invece alla portata di tutti.

    A me pare che la differenza sia gigantesca, poi a me la cosa non tange perchè come shagaz ho il pc attaccato alla tv

    Anche Microsoft si muove in questa direzione.
    Circa una settimana fa ho letto questa news:

    L'analista Paul Coster, del JP Morgan, ha intervistato Kevin Hell, CEO di DivX, Inc., ponendogli alcune interessanti domande riguardanti soprattutto il binomio Xbox 360-DivX. Le parole di Hell ci rendono più che mai speranzosi che il codec possa sbarcare su Xbox 360, magari col prossimo aggiornamento della dashboard. Vi riportiamo un piccolo ritaglio dell'intervista.

    In una recente conferenza, Microsoft ha dichiarato che i suoi Media Extender dispongono ora dei codec DivX. Ci confermi che presto vedremo anche Xbox 360 dotate di tale codec?
    Sì! Ehm, stiamo discutendo con Microsoft riguardo a questo argomento, e non posso fornire ulteriori dettagli. Ancora nulla di certificato.

    Vi terremo informati su ulteriori sviluppi della vicenda.
    Prossimo aggiornamento Dashboard = 4 dicembre (sempre che arrivi l'ufficializzazione)
