Just today news from the VALVe office has emerged as our own Craig "Torbull" Levine has taken the trip down to supposedly "help develop" the new version of Counter-Strike. Counter-Strike:Global Offensive (CS:GO). Is this VALVe reaching out to the community, recognizing the competitive community?

News first arrived about the new version on the ESEA.net Facebook Page, saying:

"Counter Strike: Global Operation... More info tomorrow!"

Jess Cliffe, one of the original creators of Counter-Strike, was seen posting on the SteamPowered forums, saying "Global Offensive."

Rumors:
Planned to be released Q1 2012
Focuses on 5v5 competition
Press release within 24 hours from VALVe
Plays on an updated source engine
Individual & Team rankings
New Guns added
New Grenades
Dust & Aztec major revamp
Spamming still viable

Targeted for release via Playstation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, and Steam (for PC and Mac) in early 2012, CS: GO will expand upon the team-based action gameplay that it pioneered when it was launched exactly 12 years ago (CS beta 1, August 1999).
CS: GO features new maps, characters, and weapons and delivers updated versions of the classic CS content (de_dust, etc.). In addition, CS: GO will introduce new gameplay modes, matchmaking, leader boards, and more.
"Counter-Strike took the gaming industry by surprise when the unlikely MOD became the most played online PC action game in the world almost immediately after its release in August 1999," said Doug Lombardi at Valve. "For the past 12 years, it has continued to be one of the most-played games in the world, headline competitive gaming tournaments and selling over 25 million units worldwide across the franchise. CS: GO promises to expand on CS' award-winning gameplay and deliver it to gamers on the PC as well as the next gen consoles and the Mac."
CS: GO is being developed by Valve in cooperation with Seattle-based Hidden Path Entertainment. The title is targeted for release in early 2012 and will be playable at this year's PAX Prime and London Games Festival.

Il nescional non ha mai smesso,cmq per ora lo stà testando gente del source(e dice che fà cagare)quindi dovrebbe essere una figata

ba da quello che si è capito ora sto gioco è una ciofega

granate molotov che ti snarano

granate decoy che non ti fanno sentire i passi o peggio ancora li fanno sentire male

revamp del money system perchè i soldi nn bastano per ste granate e per armi(ricordo che ci misero 5 anni per creare il money system attuale di 1.6,con tanto di petizione dei top player)

wallbang limitato in alcuni punti e senza livelli(in cs ci sono i livelli dei muri,a seconda dei quali prendi più o meno danno se ti bucano da un muro)

spray and pray is too good,tutto il resto molto stile source

minor e major tweaks alle mappe,che per aztec e dust1 ci sta anche bene ma han cambiato roba alle altre mappe sistemandola dalle mappe del SOURCE,nuke inferno dust2 e train sono perfette da sempre e l'unica che ha subito importanti cambiamenti è stata inferno dalla 1.5 alla 1.6

Insomma da questo inizio e con gente source only che fà da tester mi aspetto un altro fail

Non so' quanto sia attendibile ma:

Marek ".PhP" Kadek is one of the players in seattle. This is what he wrote on Playzone.cz :
- this game is not going to replace CS 1.6, or CS:S, it is primary made for consoles, PC version is just kind of a "bonus"
- at the moment, the game looks more like HL2DM
- There is no recoil and there will never be. (because of the consoles)
- the game runs on L4D2 engine
- SourceTV is NOT a priority
- they are working on match making system
- new money system
- no kevlar (this should be fixed in the future)
- maps are simplyfied for XBOX style, less ways, most fights are close range
- Hidden Path (Valve only finances the game) is trying to make all weapons balanced.

Boh CS su console io proprio non capisco che senso abbia anche se "dumbed down"... quando ci sono giochi costruiti intorno al pad
E tra l'altro il source su consoles (entrambe) fa CAGARE, Portal 2 gira a 30fps e non è che sia il gioco piu' esoso di questo mondo, non vedo come possano raggiungere i 60 senza fare grossi tagli poi non è manco programmato da Valve stessa quindi.. eh.

Praticamente la valve ha detto "cancelliamo source e rifacciamo 1.6 col motore nuovo roba tipo cs2"

tutti i tester si stanno opponendo ai vari cambiamenti listati visto che sono players di source,anzi i cambiamenti sarebbero stati prima testati su source

detto questo, dei cambiamenti alla mappa non mi sembrano la fine del mondo visto che si tratta di una "rivistazione" del gioco,
