I'm definately liking German and Japanese much more. Thinking about getting into some Icelandic to chat with some of my friends, but I hear that language is near impossible to learn this late in life.

No, German is not very easy, especially for an american speaker. The use of an abstract gender for nouns, adjective endings and just the cases in general(dative and accusitive mostly) that american speakers don't think about at all.

icelandic is not such a popular language even. i guess it's similar to scandinavian languages and i learned swedish quite well in less than 6 months with no lessons, cause it's really similar to english... but maybe i'm wrong and icelandic is completly different from the scandinavian languages.

Slovenian is really tough, cause it has cases and also dual which is like a medium way between singular and plural (it's used for two people)... I think it's one of the toughest indoeuropean languages to learn

I'm certainly not doing it for the popularity of the language. I just have friends there that I intend to visit.

Their language is much harsher than the scandanavian languages and is in no way a direct translation. I been working on it on my own and it's been a fruitless endeavor to say the least, lol.
