    Preview and Expectations

    The assassin class was presented to the commuity as being the ultimate stealth class. The assassin class was promoted as being a deadly killer in 1v1's and would become feared by anyone who wandered too far away from their team.

    Expectations fullfilled

    The Good

    In PvP, the Assassin class has really matured into a deadly class in terms of DPS and solo ability. With stuns, interupts and stealth attacks, a player on an Assassin can find himself driving his daggers into opponets neck/throat/chest in a wide variety of fatalities. Any caster class can expect a quick death if ever surprised by an Assassin, and with their extensive amount of stun and snare protection, they can even hold up fairly well in a toe-to-toe fight.

    Against other rogue classes, the assassin can easily outdamage a Ranger, and has higher DPS than a Barbarian. Their heal and +evade/armor feats give them a definative edge when heading off against their Rogue family.

    Against Soldier classes, Assassins will need to be a little more cautious, especially in the higher levels due to the large HP pools of the soldiers. Though in the lower levels Assassins can usually win out against the tanks of AoC, they will find the tide turning as the soldier classes learn more feats and gain more HP pools. I would say a 60% chance of winning an fight if the assassin has the surpise, but only a 30% chance if the Soldier has his way.

    PVE- Assassins usually have some difficulty in PvE due to the inability to tank, but with evasion and the heal, the assassin is now more equipped to taking on the usual sized mob. Reguardless, Assassins can easily solo from 1-80 with a little bit of skill.

    On Teams the Assassin can easily be one of the highest dmg classes. Their low hate generating attacks and high DPS combos can make them excellent off-target damage. Be warned when using them as a tank early on, the casters will usualy end up with the aggro.

    The Bad

    The Assassin class ranked high on my list, earning 3rd out of 12 because of it's near polished feal and survivability in team and solo situations. The current issues with the assassin mostly have to deal with stamina and CC prevention.

    Assassins have extreemly high stamina pools, yet there is a current bug that is preventing that stamina from regenerating at a "rest state". This hampers the Assassins ability to participate in long fights, or when trying to catch up with targets. This class needs some form of stamina recharge, similar to how the ToS has a mana recharge.

    CC- The assassin has many CC break abilities, yet the one ability that they had that gave them knockback protection was recently changed/broken. The assassin currently has little to no knockback protection which is a severe issue in both PvP and PvE.

    To Do List

    Mostly with this class, bugs are the only thing left to do. Some skills/feats need to be added or fixed. The damage of the Assassin class is good, the survivability and balance of the class seems to be on par with where every class should be. With these problems being addressed, I doubt many people will complain to much when they roll an Assassin on Launch Day.




    P.S. This is my opinion, and I will be adding these threads to the other class boards. Feel free to comment and we may be able to polish this information up even some more for the Dev's. All "wolrd" issues are being left out of these posts so that they remain on topic for the class. If you disagree, then post your feedback and the dev's can see your side of the story too.
