Peaky Blinders is a British historical crime drama television series starring Cillian Murphy as a gangster operating in Birmingham, England, during the aftermath of World War I. The series was created by Steven Knight, and produced by Caryn Mandabach Productions and Tiger Aspect Productions.
The first series aired on BBC Two on 13 September 2013 and ran for six episodes. The second series premiered on 2 October 2014. A third series has been commissioned.

It's rare that a television show makes me sit up and exclaim: "Wow, what on earth was that?" but BBC2's new period crime drama Peaky Blinders managed it. Forget the awkward name (which refers to the razors our anti-heroes, a Birmingham gang, carry in their caps), this was one of the most enjoyable things I've seen in some time.
