In basso a sx, vai su Wp Admin per far aprire un'altra finestra con accesso come admin, in questo modo esci dalla sovra-gestione fatta da wordpress.com

Purtroppo non avevo seguito poi il thread altrimenti te l'avrei detto subito che non puoi installare temi custom su un blog hostato su WP, puoi solo modificare il tema scegliendolo da quelli presenti (e tra quelli gratis, se non vuoi pagare), occhio che alcuni hanno qualche opzione di personalizzazione in più di altri, devi provarli per bene.
